7.23.4 Furniture Decay

(See HELP FURNITURE, HELP FURNITURE SELECTION, HELP FURNITURE COMMANDS,

Variations in material and workmanship result in pieces that last longer (or
not so long). All things being equal, something of stone will last rather
longer than something made of bone, for example.

Stockrooms do not affect the decay of furniture. If furniture decays, it always
decays. Putting it in a "non-decay" room makes no difference.

The one exception to this is beds. Beds are priced in credits. They do not
decay. They last forever.

Material
--------
stone 145% marble 150% steel 140% iron 135%
bronze 130% platinum 125% gold 120% silver 115%
copper 110% bone 90% wicker 70%

* these numbers represent changes from the current decay time. Example: if
the current decay time is 300, then choosing bone will result in a decay
time of 270, and choosing stone will result in a decay time of 435.

** any material not listed above has no effect on decay times.

Style/Workmanship
