2.15 THE COLLEGIUMS
Each city and commune has their own separate collegium, a school wherein
one learns the important aspects of that organization. The following
collegiums exist:
Celest: The Empyreal Academy
Magnagora: The College of Necromantic & Tainted Research
Serenwilde: The Ancestral Glade of the Moonharts
Glomdoring: The Shadowmaze
Hallifax: The University of Cosmic Understanding
Gaudiguch: The Order of the Secret Flame
You are enrolled directly into a collegium as soon as you enter a new
city or commune. You will remain in the collegium for 20 hours of
time online. Upon completion of the collegium quests this will advance
your time. If you are also in a guild connected with the collegium, the
teachers of that guild can also advance your time. Upon graduation, you
will be enrolled into the guild proper (if you are in a guild) as a
novice, wherein you will need 10 hours of time online to graduate.
Typing GUILD STATUS will show the status of your time and which quests you
need to complete.
You can still be considered a novice freshman while being in a
collegium, which means if you forget a guild skill you should fully
recover the lessons you put into those guild skills. GUILD STATUS will
show you whether you are a novice freshman (i.e., have never graduated
out of novicehood in a guild).
The collegiums are run by the Guild Administrators of the city or
commune, who act jointly as chancellors. They also appoint teachers
whose responsibility includes overseeing the students. Any chancellor or
teacher can use COLLEGIUM SHOW <student> to see a student's status. Only
chancellors may edit the collegium help files. Both chancellors and
teachers can advance students in their guild through the GUILD ADVANCE
command. They cannot advance students who are not in their guild.
While anyone may speak and hear the Collegium chat channel, only the
teachers and chancellors may access the teacher chat channel.
