Three Steps into the Darkness

Into the Night that covers us,
Swift as a boat from port to port,
I thank the Gods that made it thus,
Witness to Their Nocturnal court.

We bear the trials of Knowing strife,
Yet we do not halt nor stand down,
Under the weight of Fate and Life,
Our past is bloody for the Crown.

Beyond this place of Sleep and Dreams,
There lay the torment of our Fears,
Walking on the Lamp-bearer's Beams,
Finds, and shall find us without Tears.

It matters not how Dark the Path,
How Wreathed in Shadows our goals be,
We are the bearers of Their wrath,
We simply follow Their Decree.

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Mayan, in the year 608 AF.
