A new day

The day didn't dawn beautiful,
the morning merely rain.
I sloshed through a puddle and it was awful,
I knew that in bed I should have lain.
But then I talked with a friend, a silly sort,
who with a joke, made me laugh and snort.
It then dawned on me like the flame of a candle,
To see life at its fullest, simply wonderful.

Penned by my hand on the 11th of Miraman, in the year 620 AF.
