Subj: Conflict

All around me, the splashing,
Of little drops falling all round,
Yet before me lies the great fire,
Cracking and popping with sound.

In Nature, the two vicious enemies,
Opposites, rivals of life,
But here in this grove, here in this place,
The two, they cause no more strife.

The pitter-patter of the rain,
Soothes my tired limbs,
Yet the fire burns, still warm and bright,
And through the air, it swims.

That fire that fights off the rain,
Drowning all of my doubts,
Keeps the warmth of my body in,
And keeps all my troubles out.

These fierce opponents of Nature,
These brawlers, these rivals, these two,
Come together in Harmony,
To refresh both me, and you.

So say what you will about Fire,
And say what you will about Fate,
For Fire and Water together,
Can induce the most relaxed of states.

And as the two become one,
One purpose, one thing, one mind,
Apply these morals to your life,
And perhaps you will change all mankind.

Penned by my hand on the 20th of Glacian, in the year 638 AF.
