The Silence That Says It All

In life, there are many melodies
Some are sweet and kind
Some that are strummed idly

Yet the music that I speak of
It is the rather silent kind
No instruments are needed, no birdsong above

The Silence that speaks, it sings so merrily
In the void of music
One can hear the melody

For when Fate deals Her harsh hand
And you cannot take it at all
Listen to the Silent melody in the land

It is in the Silence that we can most hear
The strangest of all things
Men's hearts open now to all do appear

So when I am down, and I cannot understand a thing
I listen for the Silence that says it all
Then, I can go on with the knowledge of living

Penned by my hand on the 11th of Ero, in the year 705 AF.
