Dear Addama,

I understand that you're still very young, and of course your Targossian education would not afford you anything more than political rhetoric when it comes to education on values. Hopefully someday you will venture forth and, with travel, experience, age, and wisdom, will come to a greater understanding of the world without and within. For now, I will offer you the briefest primer.

Being a good person is about a lot more than just saying please and thank you. Any automaton can say those words. Being a good person means sincerely caring for the well-being of others, being generous, being humble, being forgiving, being kind-spirited, and so many other things that live far deeper in our hearts than mere outward manners. In this respect, you are spot-on when you say "being a good person is not the same as being a Good person." That is one lesson you have learned well already.
